Dubai

We spent easter in Dubai with grandpa, granny and (aunty) Pam. We did quite a bit of sightseeing: skyscrapers, 5 star hotels, shopping malls and more skyscrapers. Pam managed to get us in for high tea at the Burj al arab - the 7 star, very posh! It was lovely and warm so we got to spend some time on the beach which Dylan loved.

Unfortuntely Dylan was sick the last couple of days so we spent those indoors mostly.

stand up

This week it all came together – Dylan figured out how to get up on his own and suddenly seemed to enjoy the fact that he could walk around without any help. He also added joose (juice), buba (bumba the clown) and attle (apple) to his vocab list.
He alo suddenly sems to understand a lot now. He is so funny in the mornings, if he sees Marko putting his shoes on then he immediately rushes to get his. On days when he isn’t going to school it is quite hard to explain to him that he is staying home with mama. If I tell him we are going out for a walk, he goes and gets his jacket, and when its food time he races to his chair.

concentration

Dylan spent the week walking around, but not on his own… we had to walk with him, he refused to go anywhere without holding tight onto one of my (or marko’s) fingers! He also spent a lot of time working on standing up on his own.

He can, with great excitement, point to his nose and toes when asked where they are! He can also point to his tummy and rubs cream onto it after his bath.

He learnt how to build towers, out of everything. This is him concentrating hard.

baby steps

Dylan is getting more confident about walking on his own, but crawling or pushing something is still the fastest way for him to reach his target.

One of his favourite new games is to throw things onto the floor and shout uh-oh...
He also says da-da (dag-dag or bye-bye) and waves when we leave somewhere. (He learnt this at school!)

He discovered his green chair this week. He climbed on it and over it, he sat on it, stood on it and fell off it about a hundred times and then when he got bored of that, he moved it to the kitchen and started all over again.
