a visit from Lau

The end of October meant the arrival of Lauren. I met her more than 17 years ago at Rhodes University, and the rest as they say, is history!  She has been teaching English in Korea for the last 4 years and decided to take a rather long route, around half the world, back to SA. One of her (less exotic) stopovers was Holland. We did a fair bit of sightseeing (including a day trip to Antwerp and a visit to Delft for pancakes), lots of catching up, lots of kids time and lots of eating.

Story time. This was bonus story time. Story time was normally before 7am in the spare bed where Lauren was staying!

 Great timing. The Rotterdam was departing from Rotterdam on the Friday afternoon that Lau was with us. We popped off to Hotel New York to watch it depart and to enjoy some Heineken and bitterballen.
