play-play, play-play

Here are a couple of photo's of the cats, Dylan followed them around all day and when he decided they had been sleeping for long enough, he would wake them up so they could play-play.

Car obsession.

Outside!

from ice cream to ice cold in a few days

Dylan was swimming in the pool and eating ice cream a few days ago in Jo'burg. After a long flight we're back in Rotterdam, where it's cold.

Dylan and I visited the kinderboerderij this morning, both warmly dressed.
he was very impressed with the big pig. and the pig was grunting, just like dylan!

Nelson Mandela square

We went to Sandton today to shop. We stopped for lunch at Nelson Mandela square, where Dylan got to play with the big fountain in the middle of the square.

the big statue of Nelson Mandela was quite interesting too, so that deserved a closer look
wow, that is big!

appel eten

Where else would you eat an apple but under an apple tree?

Mommy meme

So, I was tagged by Rebecca. It's my first tag, fun.

1. How long have you been a Mum? Forever... ok not really, just buying time so I can figure out the days bit. 1 year, 8 months and 10 days!

2. How many children call you Mummy? One

3. Girl? Boy? or both?: Boy. A gorgeous boy!

4. Did you know what you were having? Yes, my pregnancy only felt real from the day we heard it was a boy! (20 weeks.) Then came the difficult part, a name.

5. How old were you when you became a Mum? 31

6. How long were you in labor? Contractions started at midnight and Dylan was born at 05.41. Short, although it didn't feel like it at the time.

7. What's your favorite thing about being a Mum? Hard one! That Dylan loves me no matter what! Play-playing his little made up games. Watching him sleep? Swapping stories with other moms. Not sure…

8. What's your least favorite thing? Getting up in the middle of the night when he has yet another cold and can’t sleep.

9. Do you want more kids? Yes.

10. Do you plan on having more soon? Maybe.

11. How many times have you been pee'd on? A couple.

12. Barfed on? Once, that was enough.

13. Is your child named after anyone? His second name is Jan, after Opa de Munnik.

14. How did you come up with their name? Months of stressing/thinking! We only came up with it about 2 weeks before he arrived.

15. When your child gets in trouble, who is the bad guy? I’m not sure I’d call it bad guy? But we can both be pretty stern.

16. What is the longest you have been away from your children? About 24 hours.

17. Bedtime routine? Dinner, playtime, bath, bottle, story, bed. Dylan loves it all, and so do we.

18. Are your toes painted? No. It’s always cold here so I always have socks on. Not even sure I still have toes…

19. Last movie you saw in the theatre? Wanted. Loved it.

20. One thing you will not give up just because you're a mum? Sleeping late. Ha ha, I wish.

21. One thing you did give up now that you're a mum: Sleeping late.

22. Best Mum perk: hmmm, don’t know.

23. Snack, you sneak bites from your child? You don’t?

24. When the kid is napping, you are: washing, ironing, tidying up, on the internet, reading magazines.

25. Where is your child(ren) now? Sleeping. Cuddled up with his fluffy sheep, dog, cat, monkeys and a giant bear.

26. Favorite place to buy maternity clothes? Don’t have one – battled to find decent stuff.

27. If I could do it over… I would!

28. Did it turn out the way you expected? It’s scarier - the responsibility bit I mean. But on the whole, it's more fun than I expected it to be.

Not sure there is anyone left to tag. Maybe Petra (although her children are pretty grown up!) and Wendy? Or Faye, even though she doesn't have a bogger blog?

This was taken 1 year, 8 months and 8 days ago!

no mama, no photo

Dylan isn't too keen on posing for photo's any more, he prefers it when I give him all my attention and 'play-play mama'!
hello mama!
peek-a-boo.
The clever boy can recognise blue, blue, BLUE,and LELLOW!

pooh bear

Dylan has a new favourite book, a story about Winnie the Pooh. We read it about 27 times a day.

rain or shine

in Holland it rains...often. And people cycle everywhere.... so Dylan doesn't mind going to the supermarket on the bike in the rain.
